My name is Grant McQuoid. Together, my wife Cherie and I own the Thrifty Franchises throughout the Central North Island – Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo and Napier. Cherie and I have five kids; four boys and one Princess all under the age of nine.
I am kiwi born and bred, growing up in the Waikato (Tirau) living a country lifestyle on a local farm. After attending Matamata College where I excelled in the subject “rugby”, I went on to pursue my passion for rugby at a professional level. During this time I had the honour of representing New Zealand in the under19’s, under20’s and New Zealand Sevens. I also represented the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato Chiefs which lead into four years in Japan playing for Yamaha. It was then time to settle down with my family and begin the next chapter of ‘life after rugby’.
We began our Thrifty venture in late 2010 where we took ownership of the Bay of Plenty region – Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupo. After four years of hard work and dedication with a great team of staff behind us, we were given the opportunity to expand our franchise to include the Napier branch.
We take pride in being locally owned and operated. As a franchise, we strive to provide exceptional service to our valued customers and are constantly striving to better ourselves. Joining the Thrifty family was a positive move for us – one that will continue for years to come. We appreciate the support from Thrifty, our customers and again our great team.
